Day 30 - Love
Love is a word that has many different meanings to people. Some use it to describe desire, some use it for caring, some use it just out of habit.
The love that I wish to cultivate is an unconditional love for all beings. By opening the heart to the world and all its joys and sorrows, we can get in touch with our deeper, authentic selves which is made of wisdom and compassion.
Tai Chi can help us tap into the essence of love. We learn to slow down and see when we’re not being loving.
We can then apply self-compassion and move forward with a skillful response.
Unconditional love is available to us all. It doesn’t matter what you have or haven’t done. When we truly love ourselves without judgment, we are able to mirror this love to the world.
This is true freedom. We don’t have to get it perfect. We just have to BEGIN. And when we fall off course, simply BEGIN again.
Thank you for being here. May you feel completely loved.
I’d like to close with a poem from Danna Faulds…
“Self-Observation Without Judgment”
Release the harsh and pointed inner
voice. it's just a throwback to the past,
and holds no truth about this moment.
Let go of self-judgment, the old,
learned ways of beating yourself up
for each imagined inadequacy.
Allow the dialogue within the mind
to grow friendlier, and quiet. Shift
out of inner criticism and life
suddenly looks very different.
i can say this only because I make
the choice a hundred times a day to release the voice that refuses to
acknowledge the real me.
What's needed here isn't more prodding toward perfection, but
intimacy - seeing clearly, and
embracing what I see.
Love, not judgment, sows the
seeds of tranquility and change.
