Doctor of Physical Therapy
Tai Chi Instructor
Kripalu Yoga Teacher
Adam first started to practice tai chi, yoga and meditation in 2008. He wanted to become more flexible physically. He was surprised to discover that these practices held healing benefits that went far beyond the physical.
Adam currently runs the rapidly growing Facebook™ Group "Begin with Breath Tai Chi and Therapy" and is director of the online tai chi and yoga studio "Begin with Breath Connect."
After serving in the U.S. Marines for 4 years, Adam went to PT school at UMass Lowell and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT).
When he was still in PT school, Adam enrolled in a yoga teacher training at Kripalu Center in Massachusetts which changed his life. He met his amazing wife Laura there. They did several more trainings together in yoga, meditation, mindfulness and qigong since then.
After practicing Tai Chi for many years, Adam became certified as a teacher and trained with Yang Jun of Yang Family Tai Chi.
Adam and his family currently live in beautiful Asheville, NC with their wonderful daughter, amazing son and their sweet dog.
Laura Potts is a yoga teacher in the Kripalu tradition. She has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 15 years and teaching since 2011. It has become her belief, through both second-hand and personal experience, that an individual’s healing ability is greatly enhanced by mind-body practices. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside her students on their personal journey of self-discovery through a compassionate approach to asana and meditation. When asked about her training and teaching experience, Laura had this to say,
“I am grateful to be a forever-student and to have studied with many different teachers, but my personal practice and my students have been my greatest and most honored teachers.”
Some of her other trainings and areas of teaching experience have included: Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Yoga for Addiction and Recovery, Yoga for Seniors, Yoga for Veterans, Qi Gong, and Yoga Nidra (influenced by the iRest protocol and the teachings of Richard Miller and the Integrative Restoration Institute.
In addition to being a yoga teacher, Laura is a wife, a mother to their wonderful daughter, amazing son and their sweet dog.
